Written by Cervin Ventures | 16 September 2021

Tynker’s coding curriculum has been used by one in three U.S. K-8 schools, 100,000 schools globally, and over 60 million kids across 150 countries. Tynker has partnered with a number of big names to develop programs including: Mattel, Apple, Microsoft, NASA and BBC Learning. Becoming part of the BYJU’S brand will allow Tynker to further expand and build upon this momentum. Tynker co-founders Krishna Vedati, Srinivas Mandyam, and Kelvin Chong will continue carrying out Tynker’s mission of providing every child with a solid foundation in computer science, programming, and critical thinking skills.

The acquisition will further help BYJU’S to strengthen its foothold in North America in offering highly adaptive, engaging, and effective learning programs.

Tynker and Cervin Ventures

Our journey with Tynker started in 2012 when we invested in the seed round. The decision for us to invest was simple. We knew the co-founders as a successful and driven team. Despite previous successes, we could clearly see that they were not going to slow down any time soon. They were embarking on a mission that had significant implications for the development of human capital in a technology driven society.

“This is our third startup together in the last 20 years. Tynker has been uniquely satisfying to us because we've had the honor of introducing millions of kids to Computer Science through coding games. We continue to be inspired and amazed by their coding creations every day!”

Congratulations to the founders and the Tynker team for building a great platform. Good luck to you as you scale globally with BYJU’S.
